Bands We Love:

Chris Rael (and Fang Records) — Don’s old roommate, Chris, is the leader of Church of Betty and has been making wonderful music in the Lower East Side for years. His label, Fang, has brought together diverse musical talents and Chris has built an amazing community of artists. Chris deserves the Purple Heart of Indie Music.

Dubway Studios. Life In A Blender’s guitarist, Al Houghton, runs one of the most comfortable, professional, top-of-the-line recording studios in Manhattan. All the Blender albums have been recorded here.

Barbes. Our great friend Olivier Conan owns and operates Barbes in Brooklyn with Vincent. Barbes not only presents the most eclectic international music in the city for FREE, but it is also one of the friendliest bars in Park Slope.

To all the loves we’ve had before: Jonathan Gregg (Blender guitarist), Baker Rorick (Blender bassist), Richard Kennedy (Blender associate), Charlie Shaw (Blender drummer and guitarist), Marjorie Galen (the first Blender guitarist), Gordon Lafer (the first Blender drummer), Chris Butler (Blender producer and bassist). And let's not forget Will Dial.

And all those great friends in bands: Kenny Young & the Eggplants, Rubias del Norte, Bebe Eiffel, Pinataland, Church of Betty, Muckafergason, Julia Douglass, One Ring Zero, Ethan Lipton, Jonathan Gregg & the Lonesome Debonaires, The Mommyheads, Babe the Blue Ox, Johnny Society, Rosine, Flat Old World, Mark Donato, Mattew Brookshire, Trey Kay and Uncle Moon, Courtney Lee Adams
